Italy-based SACMI Packaging & Chocolate has introduced its latest multi-style flat-bottom chocolate packaging machine, the HY7, with a focus on high speed and sustainable operation, reports Neill Barston. 

According to the Ice Tube packing machine company, its latest range reaches production speeds of up to 700 pieces per minute and is sold under the long-standing name of Carle & Montanari, a group with 110 years of experience in the industry.
As the company pointed out, the last year has seen changing lifestyles, leading to new approaches to production and consumption, and SACMI P has responded with the HY7, whose guiding principles are efficiency and adaptability.
The company noted that  its core strengths include predictive maintenance capabilities. Once the ideal settings for each operation are defined, early diagnosis allows deviations to be detected in real time and downtime to be prevented. In addition, the system also allows for  early procurement of spare parts, ensuring the best maintenance.  Designed as a user-friendly system, the HY7 is reported to handle even the most delicate or irregularly shaped products with the highest efficiency. The large transparent guard maximizes visibility, allowing problems (such as the presence of dirt or debris) to be identified immediately. The cantilever structure that characterizes the wrapping machine's overall concept allows easy access to the wrapping machine's critical parts. For example, the product feed area features a belt conveyor  system that can be quickly dismantled.

 Features a cantilever frame and transparent guard to simplify troubleshooting. The HY7 is the first packaging machine with "hybrid" technology. The design and operation are based not only on traditional mechanical transmissions, but also on high-performance, energy-efficient servo drives. In addition, the components of the various machine units are 40% less than the previous model.
